SOTTO VOCE PRODUCTIONS

L’ENFANT PRODIGUE, as a part of “Grit & Silk,” July 2025: Sotto Voce presented Debussy’s L’enfant prodigue on July 26th at Calvary Episcopal Church in Williamsville as a part of the event, “Grit & Silk.” You can watch the full show at the link below, as well as find fun promotional shorts that provide behind-the-scenes looks at the dance-opera collaboration, preparation of the roles of Lia and Siméon, the creation of Azaël’s Dark & Light Angels, and how everything came together for the final show.

LUCIA DI LAMMERMOOR, March 2025: Sotto Voce presented Gaetano Donizetti’s Lucia di Lamermoor on March 28th and 30th at First Presbyterian Church of Buffalo. You can watch the full show at the link below, as well as our music video of the famous Act II Sextet.

SUOR ANGELICA, June 2024: Sotto Voce’s second canonical opera production was Giacomo Puccini’s Suor Angelica, presented on June 28th and 30th at St. Joseph University Parish in Buffalo. You can watch the full show at the link below, as well as two original music videos of the opera’s main arias: “Senza mamma” (Angelica’s aria) and “Nel Silenzio” (La Zia Principessa’s aria).

THE MAGIC FLUTE, February 2024: Sotto Voce’s first canonical opera production was W.A. Mozart’s The Magic Flute, presented on February 23rd and 25th 2024 at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Buffalo. You can watch the full show at the link below.

THE SECOND SIGHT, June 2021: Sotto Voce’s very first operatic production was the premiere of Jessie Downs’s The Second Sight in 2021. Watch the ‘teaser’ of this production below, or watch the full show HERE.

DIDO AND AENEAS, May 2023: Another recent production by Sotto Voce’s Core Team members Jessie Downs and Alex Huddleston was Dido and Aeneas produced by the UU Church of Buffalo in 2023. Watch the famous Lament below, or view the full opera HERE.

L’Elisir D’Amore, January 2023: Also in 2023, Jessie and Alex worked with New Jersey’s Opera Magnifico to produce the performance and recording of Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore. Listen to the famous tenor aria “Una furtiva largrima” below, or watch the full opera HERE.

Annual Fundraising Galas

Every year, Sotto Voce holds a fundraising Gala to help us raise the needed funds for our main stage productions. Far more than just fundraisers, these events are extravagant evenings with a variety of musical offerings, as well as a multi-course meal and silent auction.
